Dr. Patricia Hale, MD, endocrinologist.

38 million Americans have diabetes. 98 million have pre-diabetes. And nearly 90% of those 98 million have absolutely no idea.

That's not just a statistic.

That's millions of women walking around with a condition that is quietly making it impossible to lose weight – and blaming themselves for it every single day.

I'm Dr. Patricia Hale, MD, and I've been an endocrinologist for nearly 20 years. Most women who come to me already suspect something is wrong:

“I’ve gained weight despite eating healthy.”

“I’ve tried everything, but the scale doesn’t move.”

“I crave sugar constantly, even after eating.”

And somewhere in the back of their mind, they've started to wonder if it's their blood sugar.

In most cases, they're right.

And the first thing most of them say next is: "Can I get Ozempic?"

However, most of my longest-term Ozempic patients have now switched to something completely different.

No injections. No prescriptions. No $1,200 monthly bills.

And it has helped thousands of women lose 30-40 lbs within 6 weeks – with or without diabetes.

Why Diabetes Makes Weight Loss Feel Impossible

This is the part most doctors rush past.

When blood sugar regulation breaks down, your body stops producing enough of a hormone called GLP-1.

GLP-1 is made naturally in your gut every time you eat. When it's working properly, it tells your brain you're full, stabilizes your blood sugar, and signals your body to burn fat instead of storing it.

But in women with diabetes or pre-diabetes, GLP-1 production is impaired.

The signal weakens. And when it does:

❌ Hunger stays out of control, because the “I’m full” signal never arrives
❌ Blood sugar spikes and crashes, driving cravings and unstable energy levels
❌ The body stores fat instead of burning it, especially around the belly
❌ Metabolism slows, and no amount of eating less or moving more can override it

This is why you can eat less than everyone around you and still gain weight.

In people with diabetes or pre-diabetes, GLP-1 production is impaired.

And this is exactly what Ozempic, Wegovy, and Mounjaro are designed to fix – by mimicking the GLP-1 signal your body stopped producing.

So yes. They work.

But after 20 years of prescribing them, I need to tell you what they don't tell you on the commercials.

Ozempic Works. But at What Cost?

I've prescribed GLP-1 medications for two decades. I've seen the results. I understand why women want them.

But I can no longer ignore three things that keep getting worse:

The shortage, the cost, and the dependency.

Ozempic.

These drugs were developed for diabetic patients. Then, they became the world's most in-demand weight loss drug overnight.

Demand exploded. Supply collapsed.

Right now, women who medically depend on these medications are being turned away at pharmacies.

Then, the cost. $900, $1,100, or $1,400 a month.

Insurance coverage is being pulled – I have patients rationing doses or choosing between their prescription and paying their bills.

And finally, dependency.

After stopping weight loss injections, most of the weight is gained back.

The injections work while you take them. But they do not teach your body to produce GLP-1 on its own.

Stop the medication, and your natural GLP-1 production remains just as low as before.

Hunger floods back. Cravings return. And for most women, so does every pound they lost – sometimes faster than they lost it.

I've watched this happen more times than I can count.

And it finally pushed me to ask a different question:

What can be done to make the body produce more GLP-1, naturally?

Here's What Most Doctors Never Tell You

GLP-1 is not a drug.

It's a hormone your body already knows how to make.

Even in women with Type 2 diabetes or pre-diabetes, the body hasn't lost this ability. It's just lost the conditions it needs to do it.

Specific foods and eating patterns are clinically shown to naturally stimulate GLP-1 production in the gut.

GLP-1 production happens in the gut.

When you eat this way, something fundamental shifts.

Hunger quiets – not because it's being chemically suppressed, but because the satiety signal is working again.

Blood sugar stabilizes. Energy comes back. And yes, you’re losing weight faster than ever.

Because the body is finally doing what it was always designed to do.

This is what my patients who left Ozempic switched to. And it's the most important clinical insight I've gained in 20 years of practice.

Here's What Supporting GLP-1 Naturally Does:

✅ Reduces hunger and quiets food noise naturally
✅ Stabilizes blood sugar, ending the cycle of cravings and crashes
✅ Signals the body to burn belly fat instead of storing it
✅ Speeds up metabolism, even after years of it feeling broken
✅ Reduces bloating and improves digestion
✅ Lifts energy without caffeine
✅ Improves mood and mental clarity
✅ Keeps the weight off long-term

The Plan That Makes Natural GLP-1 Production Simple for Everyone

When patients come to me asking for a GLP-1 prescription, I don't dismiss them. For some, it's still the right short-term bridge.

But I always tell them the truth first:

Lasting results require restoring your body's own GLP-1 production, not permanently replacing it with an injection.

That's why I now recommend the GLP Diet to every patient before we discuss prescriptions.
The GLP Diet.

It's not a cleanse.
It's not an elimination plan.

It's a personalized meal plan built around the specific foods and eating patterns that naturally stimulate GLP-1 – designed for women whose metabolism needs real hormonal support, not just fewer calories.

It starts with a short quiz that takes into account your age, symptoms, goals, and lifestyle.

Then, it builds a completely custom plan around you:

✅ Personalized GLP-1 boosting meal plan tailored to your body
✅ Optional light movement sessions
✅ Progress trackers so you can see exactly what's changing
✅ No injections, no prescriptions, no $1,200 monthly bills
✅ Built for lasting results

No guesswork. No harsh restrictions.

The Results I Saw in My Patients

When I looked closely at this approach, I was genuinely impressed.

It was one of the most structured, scientifically grounded natural metabolic protocols I'd seen, built specifically around how the human body produces and responds to GLP-1.

When I started recommending it to my patients, the results were remarkable.

Before and after the GLP Diet.

Those who had been stuck for years – cycling through diets, rationing medication, gaining back everything they lost – were finally seeing things change.

On average, my patients reported losing 30-40 lbs within the first 6 weeks, along with clearer thinking, more stable moods, and an energy level they hadn't felt in years.

And perhaps most importantly, they felt like themselves again:

"I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes two years ago. My doctor put me on Ozempic and I lost 26 lbs in the first six months.

Then, life happened – my pharmacy couldn't fill it. Three weeks turned into two months. Every pound came back. When I finally got my prescription again, my insurance had stopped covering it. $1,100 a month... I couldn't do it.

A friend in my diabetes support group mentioned the GLP Diet. I didn't believe food alone could do what the injection did. But I was desperate.

Within two weeks, the constant hunger was gone. Not just “managed”, gone. My blood sugar readings stabilized in a way I hadn't seen since I started Ozempic.

I've lost 34 lbs. I've kept it off for seven months. My doctor reduced my diabetes medication at my last appointment.

I only wish someone had told me about this before I spent a year on injections."

GLP-1 Shots Borrow Time – They Don’t Buy It

The reality is, diabetes and pre-diabetes work against your metabolism in ways that no injection was ever designed to permanently fix.

Those injections suppress the symptoms of a broken GLP-1 system beautifully while you're taking them.

But the moment you stop, your body is right back where it started. The signal is still weak. The hunger is still broken. The metabolism is still stuck.

That's just what it was designed to do – manage, not restore.

The GLP Diet works differently.

Instead of replacing your GLP-1 signal, it gives your body what it needs to rebuild it.

Thousands of women are already using the GLP Diet to restore their natural GLP-1, reclaim their metabolism, and lose 30-40 lbs without a single injection.

I tried this after coming off Wegovy because I couldn't afford to stay on it. The hunger control is honestly comparable. I don't understand the science of why but something is clearly working. Down 26 lbs in 8 weeks.
