That’s why HRT in most cases doesn’t help much with belly fat after 50 or fully relieve menopause symptoms.

First, your body goes into survival mode. Without enough dietary protein, your body perceives this as starvation. Cortisol shoots up to help you survive.

Second, blood sugar becomes unstable. Protein helps stabilize blood sugar. Without it, you get spikes and crashes, and every crash triggers a cortisol surge.

Third, muscle breaks down constantly. Your body cannibalizes muscle for amino acids, which is incredibly stressful on your system. More stress = more cortisol.

I really haven't been eating a lot of protein... I do get a little protein bar here and there instead of breakfast but the scale is only creeping up!!! and I did HRT!!! I really want to get back to my ideal weight to fee...
